Position: Security Consultant
Role Summary
This is highly
visible position where the individual will be responsible for the facilitation
and effective coordination of the strategic and potentially complex business
and technical challenges. The individual must be able to successfully
interface with all levels of customer environments, from senior executive
management across the various business units. The role requires the
individual to effectively remove of obstacles and barriers working with the
sales team to drive deals to successful conclusion.
The ideal
candidate must have the ability to quickly and concisely qualify an account,
understanding both the business and technical reasons for escalation, while
also having a strong concept of what the next steps need to be. The ideal
candidate is required to interact with a varied team of individuals that all
have individual goals and strategies, the strength of character and personal
interaction that this role requires can be a challenging and very interesting
experience.
Key Activities
¡
Create & deliver custom demonstrations to prospects,
customers and business partners.
¡
Develop sales tools as required to meet the demands of your
local business.
¡
Set and manage the customer’s expectation levels to a
specific solution or project.
¡
Act as conduit between customers, product management,
professional services, and engineering groups to address technical questions
or concerns.
¡
Interface with mid and senior management at Fortune 1000
companies to identify their requirements and present solutions.
¡
Provide feedback to customers on product and solution
enhancement requests.
¡
Providing technical presentations at customer sites, partner
field sales training events, trade shows, etc.; and authoring technical
response to RFP’s.
¡
The ideal candidate must be prepared to travel, sometimes at
very short notice for undetermined periods of time. Travel is estimated 50% -
75% as needed. This position at times does not conform to standard hours of
work and the candidate must be willing to be flexible with their schedules.
¡
Works
independently and can be counted on to maintain focus and follow through on
critical assignments as established by sales management.
Must have strong time management skills and
be able to work in a team environment with little supervision.
Primary Skills

A proficient knowledge of leading Security products and
solutions. Experience on RSA technologies will be much appreciated.
¡
Demonstrate sound technical and business judgments and is
recognized as a person with excellent analytical skills.
¡
Build customer trust by demonstrating leadership and defining
technical and business solutions.
¡
Collaborate with & guide sales team members on product
solutions, customer specific milestones, and resolving customer buying
objections.
¡
Provide training on information security, emerging
technologies, business issues, deployment/integration, &
development/programming.
¡
Provide technical, high-level consultation to the regional
sales teams.
¡
Capable of working in a variety of technical areas with an
established expertise in areas that are critical to the success of the sales
team.
¡
Defines RSA Security solution strategies. Integrates
knowledge of software and security industry trends into the sales planning
process.
¡
Identifies and drives opportunities for technical synergy
among RSA Security products.
¡
Assist the sales team in the completion of RFI’s/RFP’s by
providing specific information.
Qualifications:
¡
8-10 years experience as a senior system engineering in
networking or networking based technology solutions
¡
BE in Computer Science, or equivalent, or a
degree/qualification in a technical discipline.
¡
CISSP or industry equivalent certifications
Experience:
¡
Solid
Network (TCP/IP, Routers, Firewalls, VPNs, etc) experience
¡
Solid Web
application (IIS, Sun, BEA, IBM) experience
¡
Solid
Directory or Database (MS AD, SunOne, Novell, Oracle, MS SQL) experience
¡
Solid security expertise in related to
Authentication, PKI,
Identity Management, Access Management solutions (ideal)
¡
Solid experience in architecting medium to complex customer
solutions
¡
Excellent Presentation skills
¡
Multiple certifications
¡
Expert security skills (ideal)
